Easy And Cheap Recipe Orange Glazed Monkey Bread

I was going to make cinnamon scones this morning with Kyra until I realized that we had no baking powder or soda. So I had a dash of inspiration and came up with this recipe for Orange Glazed Monkey Bread. Needless to say Kyra really enjoyed rolling the biscuits into tiny balls and then coating them in cinnamon sugar. It was really nice to enjoy a little bit of one on one time with her.

Ingredients Monkey Bread:

2 cans of 10 biscuits 7.5 oz ($1.87 for a four pack at Fred Meyer)

1/4 cup Sugar

2 Tablespoons of Cinnamon

1/4 cup of butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1 tablespoon of leftover cinnamon sugar mix

Ingredients Orange Glaze:

1/2 cup of powdered sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1-3 tablespoons of range Juice

Steps:

1. Grease a 8 or 9 in round pan (i used a glass pie one) and preheat the oven to 350.

2. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl

3.Open the biscuits and break each one into 4 parts and roll into tiny balls.

4. Take the balls and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mix.

5. Completely cover the bottom of the pan with balls and then place the rest randomly on top of the bottom layer.

6. Melt the butter and the vanilla and a tablespoon of the leftover cinnamon sugar mix.

7. Pour the butter mixture over the top of the balls.

8. Place them in the oven and cook for between 11-13 minutes.

9. While the bread is in the oven begin making the orange glaze.

10. Mix the powdered sugar and vanilla in a bowl.

11. Slowly stir in the orange juice one tablespoon at a time until you get the desired consistency.
